INTERFAX-CHINA reported that China's natural gas production is expected to reach 176 billion cubic meters per year (bcm) by 2015, according to a five-year development plan for the gas industry released by the National Energy Administration on Monday.
The plan calls for the country will produce 138.5 bcm from conventional gas sources, between 15 to 18 bcm of synthetic natural gas from coal sources, and 16 bcm from coalbed methane (CBM). Total Chinese gas imports will reach 93.5 bcm by the same year.
